Firstly, I would love to personally welcome you to SōL. Why SōL? It’s Latin for “Sun,” and simply put, it’s the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Phuket. We’re delighted that you’ve chosen to join us! Although we may have never met, I’ve made sure you’ll feel right at home, because that’s exactly what SōL means to me.

Having grown up in Phuket, I’ve always dreamed of creating something in a place that holds so much meaning in my life. This island is filled with cherished memories and has shaped the person I am today.

Never Just a Meal & Never Just a Drink.

SōL isn’t just a restaurant; it’s my dream of creating a space that feels like a true home in the heart of Phuket. As someone who is a local to this island, I’ve always wanted to build somewhere that celebrates the best thing about dining out, which for me, has always been its power to connect. More importantly, the way it connects emotions to places, memories, and, best of all, people. Whether it’s with new friends meeting for the first time, old friends, high school classmates, or families who live across oceans, food has the power to bridge those distances. Connections made through food and drink can be one of life’s greatest gifts.

This is why our all-day dining menu is designed for sharing, because I believe the best meals are the ones you experience together. The table becomes a place for laughter, conversation, and memories, whether it’s an early light lunch, lazy boozy afternoons with a few plates between friends, or a lively evening with dishes flowing until the night winds down.

Think of SōL as a modern-day clubhouse for the community — a place to gather after the beach, to host a long-overdue catch-up, or simply to savour a glass of wine as the sun sets. Whether it’s a quiet Tuesday night after the school run, a birthday celebration for the young and the forever young, or a first date, or even for the Sōls who don't want to know where the night may take them.

SōL is an open house for all who seek it.

The food is inspired by the flavours I love most: a mix of familiar comforts we all crave and vibrant dishes that spark curiosity. There is no single cuisine that reigns here — you’ll find simple comforts such as our classic bolognese, homey Thai dishes, and adventurous signatures like our cured ocean trout with kombu dressing. There truly is a dish here for all ages and all occasions.
